Iain Armitage delighted fans with a heartwarming reunion with a fellow Young Sheldon cast member.
The hit CBS sitcom may have bid farewell to viewers with its final episode but the cast’s friendship clearly lives on beyond the screen.
In an Instagram update, the 17-year-old actor posted photos from a get-together with Wallace Shawn, who played Dr. John Sturgis.
Moreover, although he was not in the photo, Armitage also mentioned co-star Ed Begley Jr., who portrayed Dr. Grant Linkletter.
"Getting to see one of my favorite actors/people in the world is always a pleasure- we just wish @ed_begley_jr could have been there to complete our happy trio! You are wonderful, Wally Shawn!!" he wrote.

The post sparked major nostalgia among Young Sheldon fans, with many who couldn’t help but reminisce about the show’s early days.
“Sheldon and Dr. John Sturgis, ready to solve scientific problems,” one wrote.
“SHELDON AND DOCTOR STURGIS UNITE, THE ULTIMATE DUO,” another added.
“I miss this duo so much,” a commenter noted.
“Iain and Wallace WITHOUT Ed? INCONCEIVABLE!” a fan playfully remarked.
Some users also mentioned Annie Potts, who played Sheldon’s grandmother, Meemaw.
“Meemaw’s sweetheart,” a follower said.
“Hey Connie, it’s Dr. Sturgis,” another added.
Released in 2017, Young Sheldon is a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, focusing on the early years of Sheldon Cooper, played by Iain Armitage.
In the series, Sheldon’s fascination with physics leads him to meet Dr. Sturgis, who eventually becomes his mentor. Along the way, Dr. Sturgis also develops a budding romance with Sheldon’s Meemaw.
Besides his mentor, he also meets Dr. Linkletter, the rival of Dr. Sturgis, who later becomes his advisor.
Will there be a Young Sheldon Season 8?
For seven years, the show brought comfort, humor and heartfelt storytelling to fans who grew up with Sheldon and his quirky family.
Viewers got to see Armitage alongside Montana Jordan and Raegan Revord, who played his siblings, and Lance Barber and Zoe Perry as his parents.
Sadly for fans, Young Sheldon wrapped up after seven successful seasons. Longtime viewers had anticipated the ending, as the story was naturally catching up to The Big Bang Theory timeline.
On the other hand, CBS released a spin-off titled Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, which highlights Georgie’s growing family.
Several familiar faces from the Young Sheldon cast such as Montana Jordan, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord, Zoe Perry, Emily Osment and more appeared in the show.
