Sara Haines received a literal slap on the… uh… *arm* after she made a dirty joke about colleague Joy Behar live on *The View*.

Whoopi Goldberg turned toward her cohost to deliver a brief smack on the elbow following Haines' quip about oral sex, amid a (fitting) wider conversation about professional warnings the cohosts have experienced in the past.

"My agent at the time told me not to take *The View*, and, in retrospect, he might've been right," Behar joked, before recalling, "I was told, 'Change your voice,' which I can't. 'Change your name.'"

Haines then cut in to ask, "It's so iconic, why would you change it?" Behar replied, "Because I sound like I have Jimmy Hoffa in the back of my throat," which prompted the audience to laugh.

"Well, did you?" Haines said, seemingly referencing Behar's running joke about having "dated" historical figures.

Goldberg then turned toward Haines and slapped her on the arm with her cue cards, with Haines laughing as she collapsed onto the EGOT-winning actress.

Unfazed, Behar continued, "But, he told me, 'Don't take *The View*!'"

Behar has found herself at the center of several *View* headlines this week, including Tuesday's live show that saw her skip a live interview with *American Idol* personality Carrie Underwood, one year after publicly criticizing the singer for performing at Donald Trump's second inauguration in January 2025.

In 2025, Behar's words about Underwood drew criticism from former *View* star Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who said Behar could "learn from [Underwood's] strength" in a series of social media messages aimed at the 83-year-old.
