Thirty-three Swifties scream-shout the lyrics to Taylor Swift songs, but not in a stadium or at a therapy session. They're doing it in a workout class.
Welcome to Swiftie Liftie, a rhythmic, full-body exercise class set entirely to the showgirl's music.
Inside a neon-lit room in central Phoenix, bodies move in unison as Swift's bridges and choruses become cues for squats, lunges and boat holds. The room pulses with color and bass, every rep syncing with a lyric fans know by heart.
Instructor Alexy Posner shoots electricity through the Groundwrk Phoenix studio as she sings along and urges fans to grab the weights tucked beneath their benches.
"At Groundwrk, the studio can be a dark, studio vibe, and I'm the pink girl that comes in and says, 'Let's play Taylor,'" Posner says in an interview over Zoom. "I started about a year ago in February, doing classes once a month, and I love that I've been able to build this Swiftie Liftie Club."

Every month has a different theme. On Dec. 14, the class embraced Merry Spicy Swiftmas.
"I've done album battles," Posner says. "I've done evolution of Taylor. Obviously, 'The Life of a Showgirl' was October. We did the whole class was the entire album. I did 'And Baby That’s Show Business' by pulling songs from the Spotify playlist. August was 'It's a Love Story' because of the engagement. I did a 'Midnights' versus 'Rep' battle, which was a really fun one."
She once programmed 10 full minutes of hip thrusts to "All Too Well (Taylor’s Version) (10 Minute Version)."
"That was savage and unhinged," she says. "Everyone was dying. We were laughing. It was so much fun."
Instructor Alexy Posner leads a Swiftie Lifties exercise class at GroundWrk in Phoenix on Dec. 14.
But no matter how intense the themes get or how demanding the workout becomes, Posner says the class ultimately comes down to one thing: joy. And that starts with her only rule for Swiftie Liftie Club.
"I start class by saying I don't care, modify, change, break, do whatever," she says. "The one non-negotiable is if you know the lyrics, you better sing the song. That's all I care about is we need to be smiling and having fun because life is way too hard sometimes."
Swiftie Liftie isn't just building stronger bodies. It's building a community. The demand has grown so quickly that Posner realized she couldn't keep it contained to one Phoenix studio. Five-minute sellouts and waitlists nearly the size of the room pushed her to think beyond Groundwrk, and soon, beyond Arizona.
"We're going to be taking this on the road," she says. "I'm going to be going to New York and L.A. I've got some amazing new brand partners that are coming on board to help me. So, like, follow along with our community, and if you own a studio and you want to have a Swiftie Liftie class, call me. I will travel."
The national rollout begins in February, with Posner planning stops in major cities and expanded outdoor events to fit up to 150 people.
"What has been the most powerful thing to me about this community is just the pure love and wanting to be accepted," Posner says. "I can't tell you how many people have come up to me and just said, 'You've introduced me to my best friends.' I would tell Taylor, 'Thank you for giving us a space to feel all the emotions.' She's just the greatest, because no matter what you're going through, there's a song that is going to make you feel seen and heard."
The next Swift-inspired workout will be on Jan. 11.
"And we're entering our outdoor era," Posner says.
