When Tom Felton entered the *Harry Potter** *franchise as a preteen to play Draco Malfoy, there was no expectation whatsoever of what would come. With the billion-dollar franchise now expanding into a television series on HBO, Felton is sharing why he felt it was "really important" to connect with Lox Pratt, who will play Draco on the show.

While appearing on the *Happy Sad Confused* podcast, the now 38-year-old actor confirmed he "sent word" to Pratt in case the two wanted to chat, Slytherin to Slytherin.

"It's very different from when we were entering things that don't exist," Felton said on the podcast, adding, "There's quite a lot of weight now."

Felton emphasized that he didn't want to impede too much upon Pratt's experience entering the Wizarding World. "The last thing I'm gonna do is offer anything other than say, 'Here's my phone number. Here's my address,' to his parents as well as him... 'I can't offer you advice. This is your journey,'" Felton continued.**

Felton, who starred in the original films from 2001 to 2011 and will reprise an adult version of Draco Malfoy in Broadway’s *Harry Potter and the Cursed Child*. quipped that Pratt would also be wise to nick a few pieces from the set.

"Have as much fun as possible. Take as many pictures as you can," Felton shared. "Steal as many props as you can. They'll be worth a fortune," Felton joked. "But also, if you do need a word of encouragement or questions to ask, I'm there."**

Pratt recently shared how the television show will be very different from the books and movies, telling *1883 Magazine*, "[The books] are very much over Harry’s shoulder, which is great, and that’s how they played the film as well. And I think [showrunners] Francesca [Gardiner] and Mark [Mylod] have been audible about this in their interviews, there’s just so much more that you get to see. You get to see all the teachers in their little rooms. You get to see Draco at home."

While trying to avoid spoilers, Pratt teased, "there are some brilliant scenes at home where you start to get an insight" into who Draco is.

"I was grateful that we had the... freedom to explore these characters, because in the films Draco is sort of 2-D. He is the sneery villain. I feel like there’s so much more — you need to understand why. And you see little glints of it in the film with Lucius and stuff," Pratt added.
