Todd Creal has been named the new athletic director at Lincoln Land Community College.

Creal comes to LLCC from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where he served in multiple roles, including men’s basketball coach, sports information director and interim associate vice president of intercollegiate athletics.

Creal is originally from Brighton and holds a master’s degree in sport management from Western Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree from Illinois College, where he played basketball from 1994-97 and served as team captain his senior year.

“I look forward to being at LLCC and working to continue to uphold the values of what it means to be a Logger,” Creal said. “I will work hard every day to enrich the student-athlete experience, support our fantastic coaches and continue to elevate our presence on campus and in the greater Springfield community as a whole.”

At Westminster, Creal oversaw the re-implementation of the college’s Athletics Hall of Fame, an event that raised $50,000. He also managed game day operations for all 18 varsity sports, coordinating coaches and student workers to ensure a positive experience.

Prior to his time at Westminster, Creal was men’s basketball coach at MacMurray College in Jacksonville for 13 seasons, where he compiled 146 wins and held the highest winning percentage of any basketball coach in the school’s history. He was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2015. Creal also served as an instructor of sports management, men’s golf coach and assistant athletic director for game day management.

Additionally, Creal has coached at Millikin University in Decatur and Illinois College in Jacksonville.

“Todd Creal is a leader who truly understands the dual mission of collegiate athletics,” Shanda Byer, LLCC vice president of student services, said in the announcement. “His unwavering support for student athletes, both academically and athletically, combined with his commitment to empowering and supporting coaches, will have a lasting positive impact on our campus community.”
