Mark Zuckerberg has his profile picture — on the big screen.
Sony debuted the first look at Aaron Sorkin's Facebook drama The Social Reckoning at CinemaCon 2026. Among the footage: our first glimpse of Succession star Jeremy Strong as the billionaire Meta CEO.
Strong comes into focus during a deposition where he's asked to state his name and occupation. "I'm a professional defendant," he declares.
An advisor played by Bill Burr gives Zuckerberg some tough love. "These guys are counting on the next run of congressional testimony to make you likable, Mark," he says. "I'm happy to lend a hand, but I think you don't."

Later, Zuckerberg defends the persistence of misinformation on Facebook. "I'm a free speech absolutist," he says sternly. "I'm not the one who's lying, and I'm not stopping them from seeing someone who is."
The humorless CEO also aims to show the world who's boss. "People around here understand that when I say no, that's the end of the debate," he says. "I'm not two years out of a dorm room anymore, Charlie. Look around."
The trailer ends with a music cue from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' score from The Social Network.
Sorkin appeared on stage at Caesar's Palace to tease the film's stakes. "A while back, we told a story about a college kid who built a website in his dorm and connected the world," the screenwriter said. "Well, as you might have noticed, a couple of things have changed since that dream exploded into a global corporation. There's no life that Facebook's algorithm hasn't touched, and that influence has reshaped everything. So it's time to say more."

Described as a "companion piece" to David Fincher's 2010 hit The Social Network — for which Sorkin won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay — the film also features Anora actress Mikey Madison as whistleblower Frances Haugen and The Bear star Jeremy Allen White as Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz.

The Social Network starred Jesse Eisenberg as Zuckerberg, Andrew Garfield as his friend and business partner Eduardo Saverin, and Justin Timberlake as Napster founder Sean Parker. The film won Oscars for its screenplay, editing, and score, and is widely considered one of the best films of the 21st century.
Strong previously told THR that The Social Reckoning has "one of the great scripts I've ever read," adding, "It speaks to our time, it touches the third rail of everything happening in our world."
The Apprentice star also distanced his performance from Eisenberg's version of the controversial CEO, opining, "No, I think that has nothing to do with what I'm going to do."

Horwitz's 2021 publication of "The Facebook Files" revealed that Facebook knew about its negative impact on teenagers, its impact on violence in developing countries, and its algorithms' intentional promotion of rage-inducing content.
The Social Reckoning will bow in theaters on Oct. 9, 2026.
