Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 4. Last week, Ciara advised Jesse on the type of girl that was right for him. And this person sounded a lot like her. Meanwhile, West was lost on where he stood with Ciara. But when they had a fun night out together, he was happy things were finally looking up. Kyle brought Amanda to the infamous “apology dune” to apologize for not communicating. But he shut down the moment Amanda asked him to get his drinking under control. Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 4: “Heated Rivalry.”

What happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 4?

Things were starting to get more serious between Jesse and Ciara, at least in Jesse’s mind. He was ready to test the waters but first asked West’s permission if he could make out with her. And West was not thrilled. Lindsay joined the group and hit things off with Ben. But was Ben into her? And Kyle apologized to Amanda for his behavior at apology dune, but she still was not over Kyle blaming everything on her.

Jesse wants to settle down

The morning after was rough for some, but West made it a little bit brighter by baking a breakfast casserole. KJ observed, “This is the most Midwest sh*t ever.” While everyone waited for food, Jesse cuddled with his fellow Bed Bugs, Ciara and Amanda, and caught up on the night before.

After agreeing Mia was a great addition to the group, Jesse brought up that West asked him to take a picture of him getting drinks for Ciara. He said West wanted Ciara to know when she asked him to do something, he would do it. Ciara said, “Everyone’s trained so well in this house.” As Ciara laughed about West, she had no idea how Jesse was really feeling about her.

Jesse said in his confessional, “If West was ready to settle down, Ciara would be a great match. He’s just not ready. We differ in that sense. Like, I’m very clear I want to find someone to spend the rest of my life with. But West is like, chillin’. And that is not what Ciara’s looking for.”

Over breakfast, West informed everyone he was having an “Australian-themed singles bash” to help Ben find someone. Bailey frantically waved her hands and pointed at herself. But alas, Ben was not looking.

Kyle pulled Amanda aside to apologize for his behavior at the beach. Amanda wanted him to stop blaming her for everything, while Kyle wanted her to ask more questions. Amanda felt she didn’t need to; he should just talk to her like she does to him.

When Amanda said she felt Kyle made her sound like a “terrible person,” he reasoned he wasn’t making anything up. Amanda said, “You are. And if you’re that miserable with me, I just, like, don’t get it.”

Bailey is single and ready to mingle

Back in the city, the group met up for the singles bash. West admitted it was really for him and not Ben, because does that man really need any help?

And things didn’t take long for Ben once Lindsay joined them. She immediately started vibing with him. However, Amanda noticed there was just one problem. Lindsay had no idea what Ben was saying with his Aussie accent.

Bailey was trying to find her Mr. Right but still had hopes for Ben. She told Amanda and Mia, “If that man touched me, I would not know what to do with myself.”

Amanda advised to start building a friendship first. Bailey understood the assignment but confessed her ex used to put her down, which demolished her self-confidence. She added she had to remind herself coming into this group not to be paranoid and that “people don’t hate you.”

Meanwhile, West introduced his ex, Dara, to the group. He explained they dated three years ago, but it fizzled out. Amanda was confused why he brought her to the party to potentially hook up with Ben. West didn’t mind. But he made it clear he was not going to hook up with her. West did not want any issues with Ciara.

West said in his confessional, “The progress from last summer to this summer with Ciara and I is clearly there … Despite how messy this relationship has been there’s still boundaries that we have both tried to hold to just respect each other, and it’s super important in keeping our little family together, ya know?” However, not everyone in the house felt that same sentiment.

Lindsay couldn’t get a read on Ben

The next day everyone headed back to the Hamptons, including Lindsay. And Lindsay could care less about running into Carl. Her mind was on Ben instead.

As Ben helped her make a pineapple upside-down cake, she, like Bailey, wasn’t sure if he was flirting or not. In her confessional, Lindsay stated, “It’s hard to get a read on Ben. I don’t know. I mean, listen, on paper he is a beautiful specimen of a man, right? But as far as, like, is he flirting? I have no idea.”

Kyle prepped the troops that his DJ set started at 11:30pm sharp. When Amanda told Kyle she was too sick to join, he was not thrilled, as she also missed his family reunion. Still, the two kept any fighting at bay.

Meanwhile, things started to get spicy between Ciara and Jesse. When she sat down next to him outside, Jesse said, “It’s so funny there’s an open seat there, but she chooses this.” Then Jesse rubbed her arm as West gave them side-eye.

Afterwards, Jesse and Ciara posed in cowboy hats. Ciara joked, “Imagine if this is, like, our engagement photos.” Jesse felt enough time had passed that he could now make a move on Ciara. He wondered if Ciara would even be open to him. Regardless, he wanted to get West’s permission first.

So, Jesse went to his room to find West, Ben, and KJ. Jesse asked West, “You don’t care if I make out with Ciara, do you?” KJ and Ben almost fell off the bed.

A shocked West wondered if that was really in the works. Jesse played it off that it would probably just be “drunk and for fun.” But it was not fun for West, who mumbled, “whatever,” in response.

The guys were the last to come home after Kyle’s DJ set. Once Jesse went to bed, West spilled the tea to Kyle about Jesse asking if he could make out with Ciara. Kyle was shocked and thought it was weird. KJ and Ben were also surprised Jesse wanted to make a move because what West and Ciara had was more than a fling.

The next morning, Carl was excited to prep for his Renaissance-fair-themed party. Who wouldn’t want a party with giant turkey legs, knights, armor, and bales of hay? And they had the perfect pair of knights to have a duel … Jesse and West.

West caught Lindsay up about Jesse asking to make out with Ciara. Lindsay had Jesse’s number immediately, and said Jesse made sure everyone was present so he could call dibs on her. She added, “He might be catching feelings for her.”

Afterwards, things got tense between West and Jesse. Jesse told him he was happy that Ciara liked a video of them being jokey together. West wondered, “So, it is all jokey?”

Jesse stuttered, so West cut to the chase and asked if Jesse was asking for permission. Jesse thought it was the right thing to do in case they “got drunk and made out.”

West responded, “I think that most people in my position, would like call you a weirdo or a d*ckhead for asking.” Jesse retorted, “The fact that you dated her makes it a little weirder. But it won’t stop me.”
