From one celebrity mentalist to another: No feat is off limits, as mind- reading ace Nevo Abutbul tells * *in reaction to a headline-making moment that saw Oz Pearlman shocking *The View*'s Sara Haines by guessing her PIN live on the air.
In an exclusive interview on EW's *Awardist* podcast (below), Abutbul says he "of course" watched the November 2025 moment in which Haines melted down (and dropped a bit of censored profanity) when Pearlman exposed her bank PIN during a telecast of *The View*.
"I think they freaked out," Abutbul says. "I can tell you that, for me, there's no line you shouldn't cross, because that's what we do. We're entertainers. We blow people's minds," Abutbul tells EW. "We're not trying to fool people, we're not trying to make people feel good. At the end of the day, they loved it, they were all freaked out, the audience was amazed. That's what we're trying to do, we're trying to blow people's minds. I love this act! I think he's a great guy."**
Abutbul doubles down later in the interview, stressing that, "There's no line we shouldn't cross. There's always respect. I know Oz and I know what a mentalist is, just by looking at your facial expression, I can see if you're comfortable or not comfortable."
He says that, in his estimation, "I know [Oz] was 100 percent sure she was comfortable with it" before revealing the PIN live on the air.
"I guess PIN numbers all the time. I did also one time, guess a social security number. I feel that the vibe of the person is with me," Abutbul continues.

In the aftermath of Pearlman's reveal — which saw Haines ask, "What the f---?" live on the air — the star opened up about feeling betrayed in the moment.
"I don't like someone that will sell a human violation for clickbait," Haines later said on the show's *Behind the Table* podcast.
Panelist Joy Behar earlier claimed that her cohost had a "nervous breakdown" on set shortly after Pearlman revealed her PIN.
"When we went out, and he read the numbers, it was an impressive routine he'd been working on for 40 minutes or whatever, but the part that got me, my reaction — and I shouldn't be swearing on the air — was not, 'Oh my gosh, you're such a good mentalist' or whatever," Haines said. "It was, 'You reassured me three or four times in that room we're not going to use your real PIN number, we're coming up with an imaginary one.'"
The journalist claimed that Pearlman met with the cohosts before the broadcast. "I've never felt so violated on air, someone meeting with you and saying over and over, 'Play with me here,' kind of like, *I'll protect you,*" Haines said. (Pearlman did not respond to EW's request for comment at the time.)
In his EW interview, Abutbul also calls Pearlman "a very good friend" and praises him for guiding him through the mentalist industry from a young age.
"He opened the market for people in the world to know what a mentalist and mind reader is because this is an art, and we share the same love for this style of entertainment," says Abutbul.
