Sarah Ferguson responds firmly to 'multi-million dollar book deal' claim

Sarah Ferguson has firmly rejected claims that she is on the verge of securing a lucrative publishing deal for a revelatory autobiography about the Royal Family.

A spokesman for the 66-year-old said on Friday: "Sarah Ferguson is not close to signing a multi-million dollar book deal as has been reported.

"She has no plans to write any tell all memoir."

The denial came in response to earlier reporting that suggested the former Duchess of York had received seven-figure offers from publishers eager to secure her story.

The rebuttal was swift and unequivocal, pushing back against suggestions that Ms Ferguson was preparing to add to the growing list of insider accounts that have rocked the monarchy in recent months.

According to The Sun, which cited publishing industry sources, Ms Ferguson was thought to be just days from finalising an agreement following a covert bidding war among publishers.

The newspaper suggested the book could touch on a range of sensitive subjects, including her views on her former husband, her connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, King Charles, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Ms Ferguson was said to believe such a memoir would offer her an opportunity to "set the record straight" on various controversies that have engulfed her in recent years.

The US Department of Justice's release of three million files relating to Epstein and his associates brought fresh scrutiny to Ms Ferguson's relationship with the disgraced financier.

Documents indicated she had visited Epstein alongside her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie shortly after his release from prison for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

In one email exchange, she described Epstein as "the brother I have always wished for".

As a consequence, King Charles removed the titles of both Ms Ferguson and her former husband in October 2025 over their Epstein connections, and the pair were forced out of Royal Lodge, Windsor, in February this year.

Both Ms Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have denied any wrongdoing.
