Sarah Ferguson has checked into a Swiss inpatient rehabilitation facility, according to new reports. The decision to seek professional mental health treatment came days following the arrest of her former husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Andrew was arrested on Thursday, on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The charge involves forwarding confidential trade documents to convicted sex offender and financier, Jeffrey Epstein. The former prince has also been accused of engaging in sex trafficking through his friendship with Epstein.

The former Duchess of York checked herself into the Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, the Daily Mail reported. The clinic focuses on mental health recovery and offers what has been described as personalized, discreet care, according to the outlet. Inpatient treatment at the centre reportedly starts at $17,500 a night.

Sarah allegedly went to the rehab facility on numerous occasions in the past. ​”She always feels at home at Paracelsus, and knows she’ll get love and attention there, as well as expert health treatment when she’s feeling at her most vulnerable,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Another source told the outlet that Sarah’s ex-husband’s arrest had affected her mental health. “I’ve been talking to some of her friends. She sounds in a bad way,” the source claimed. “She’s been telling people she is really suffering with her mental health and thinks everyone is out to get her.”

The former Duchess’s mental health may be affected by the fact that she may become subject to criminal investigation. In October 2025, leaked emails showed that Sarah had continued her friendship with the disgraced financier, following his 2008 conviction for procuring a child for prostitution.

As a result of this leak, the author lost several patron titles. The Teenage Cancer Trust, the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, and the British Heart Foundation are three charities that severed ties with Sarah.
