Reba McEntire is sharing sweet throwback photos of her son for his 36th birthday.

On Monday, Feb. 23, the "Fancy" musician, 70, shared an tribute on Instagram to her son Shelby Blackstock in honor of his birthday — and included some throwback photos taken during his childhood.

One shot showed the mother-son duo posing for a portrait when Blackstock was a toddler, another showed McEntire holding her son as a baby, wrapped in a white towel after a bath, and yet another showed McEntire posing with Blackstock at a NASCAR event.

"Seems like yesterday when our journey started together," she captioned the sweet post. "Happy Birthday, Shelby! Love you with all my heart."

The "I'm a Survivor" singer shares Blackstock — a NASCAR driver who previously took home the title of GT World Challenge America Overall Champion — with her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock, and he was born one year after their 1989 wedding. The two were married for 26 years before divorcing in 2015.

Along with Blackstock, McEntire has also said she "claims" Narvel's other children as her own, including Brandon Blackstock, who died in August 2025 of cancer.

Blackstock, who resides in Nashville, married his wife Marissa Branch in 2022, after proposing at Walt Disney World's Epcot in 2020.

McEntire, who is now engaged to her longtime partner Rex Linn, has previously been candid about her love for her son.Speaking with PEOPLE in December 2023, McEntire shared that her joy comes in part from her son and his well-being.

"I'm at a really good place in my life," she said at the time. "I'm happy, I'm in love. My kids are all healthy. My family's healthy. So I'm happy."

In October 2022, McEntire also spoke to PEOPLE about Blackstock's life and career, saying, "I'm very proud of him. He's always trying to improve and do better. His daddy did a great job too."

"Shelby is a gift from God to me. We're very close. I was a very self-centered person to a degree before Shelby," the Happy's Place star added. "But then there's a little character who you are given the job to protect and nurture and love and teach, so all the attention's not on you anymore."
