Week. The prince discussed travel, dropping intimate anecdotes about his own royal family members and how they shaped his views on the subject. This marks Harry’s first visit to the U.S. since returning to the UK on August 26.

Prince Harry gushed over Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth during his recent US trip. On Wednesday, September 23, the Duke of Sussex marked his presence at the Skift Global Forum at the North Javits Center. Industry leaders in the tech industry gathered to discuss the “strategies that will shape the industry’s next chapter.”

As per PEOPLE, Harry brought up the Queen and Princess Diana when he discussed his own history with travel. The Duke of Sussex showed off his trademark sense of humor when he gushed: “I’ve been lucky enough to travel to, I think, probably all corners of the world, sent by my grandmother.”

Moreover, he expressed that the experience not only shaped him as a well-informed individual but also helped him understand the global community. He amplified this by sharing a travel experience that seemingly changed his perspective. Harry revealed how a young Caribbean boy’s comments left a “pretty profound” impact on him.

The speech then pivoted to his mother, the late princess. He revealed how his mother’s death changed his views on travelling to some of his favorite destinations, like Botswana. The Duke of Sussex shared how he travelled to Botswana shortly after Diana’s tragic death. He realized that it is not simply an “extraordinary” travel destination but a living system that “sustains” wildlife and communities. He explained that the travel industry may view these places as a “destination.” However, these places are not simply travel destinations, but rather home.
