Prince George joined his parents Kate Middleton and Prince William and his siblings for a bittersweet outing on August 23 in Scotland.
The 13-year-old is currently on the last leg of his summer break at the royal family’s historic estate Balmoral.
George will be attending Eton College in September, following in his dad’s footsteps.
The Wales family is making the most of their last few days of vacation before a bittersweet back-to-school season. On August 23, Prince George was spotted joining his parents Kate Middleton and Prince William as well as his two younger siblings, marking one of his final public outings before he heads to Eton College.

George has been enjoying some quality time with Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and other members of the royal family at Balmoral Castle, the British monarchy’s historic summer escape in Scotland. However, the Waleses broke cover on Sunday, leaving the private grounds of the Aberdeenshire retreat as they headed to a church service at Crathie Kirk.
In photos captured from their car ride, a serious-looking George resembled a young version of his father—as he donned a light blue collared dress shirt, a dark blazer, and a patterned tie. He sat in the back seat behind William, who coordinated with his son with a similar outfit formula. The 44-year-old future monarch opted for a white dress shirt, a black jacket, and a bright blue patterned tie. Charlotte, 11, and Louis, 8, also joined their parents and older brother, but couldn’t be seen in the images.

Kate flashed a huge smile as she sat next to William during the drive over to the church. The Princess of Wales appeared to have gotten some sun during the family’s Balmoral escape, as she showed off a sun-kissed complexion and new golden highlights in her brunette hair. Kate, who’s been at Balmoral with her family since August 20, used her outfit to pay homage to Scotland’s culture, echoing one of her longtime fashion traditions.

The mom-of-three could be seen wearing a Victorian-inspired cream blouse with a mock turtleneck with a blazer made out of tweed, a wool fabric that’s traditionally woven in the Scottish Borders and the Outer Hebrides. Kate finished off her look with a pair of Ralph Lauren chandelier-style earrings and a pillbox hat from Lock & Co.
George will be following in William as well as uncle Prince Harry’s footsteps when he attends Eton in the fall. The teen will need to leave his home at Forest Lodge to attend the prestigious boys-only boarding school, meaning that the Wales family is probably taking full advantage of their precious time together before his school term starts.
