Lord Ivar Mountbatten, who made royal history in 2018 by becoming the first member of the extended Royal Family to enter a same-sex union, has walked his eldest daughter Ella down the aisle at St Luke's church in Milland, West Sussex.
Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, who are longtime friends of Lord Ivar, were among those in attendance for the ceremony. The Duke of Edinburgh, 62, is also Ella's godfather.
Ella, 30, who works as an events manager, married Fergus Wright, an insurance professional, in what her father described as an intensely emotional celebration.
The 63-year-old, a cousin of King Charles and great-nephew of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, had previously exchanged vows twice himself, first with Penny Eastwood in 1994, and then with James Coyle, an air cabin services director, four years ago.
Ella's engagement to Mr Wright was first revealed by Lord Ivar on Instagram in July 2025.
Lord Ivar told the Mail: "It's been such a fun and emotional couple of days, but boy I'm glad it's all over; the last month has been non-stop."
His daughter offered a rather more succinct verdict on proceedings: "It was epic."
The father of three, whose daughters Ella, Alix and Luli were all born during his first marriage to Penny Mountbatten, signed off his earlier engagement announcement with the playful hashtag "#1down2togo", suggesting he is already looking ahead to future trips down the aisle with his younger children.

When sharing the news of the engagement last summer, Lord Ivar wrote on Instagram: "I couldn't be happier to announce the engagement of my eldest and most precious daughter Ella to her fabulous boyfriend Fergus.

"I am incredibly pleased that he has finally put us all out of our misery!
"I know he will look after my daughter to his dying day - they couldn't be better suited. Enjoy this special time in your life."
A photograph accompanying the announcement showed a beaming Ella displaying an emerald and diamond-encrusted engagement ring alongside her then fiancé.

Lord Ivar's first wedding to Penny Eastwood took place in 1994, while his groundbreaking union with James Coyle followed in 2018.
Until recently, Lord Ivar and Mr Coyle resided at Bridwell Park, a Grade I Georgian estate in mid-Devon that had been in the family since 1997.
The property was listed for £5.5million in April 2024, and the couple vacated that September to allow new buyers to settle in.
They relocated to a rented thatched cottage roughly a quarter of a mile from the estate's main gates. Lord Ivar told The Times he found the arrangement liberating: "When you are renting there's no maintenance. We're now thinking, actually, do we want the hassle of buying another property?"
