Noah Wyle’s go-to breakfast, Hole in the Middle Eggs, is a family tradition.
Eggs are a nutrient-rich breakfast choice that provide essential nutrients, including protein.
Pairing eggs with whole-wheat toast and fruit can help create a balanced meal.
Noah Wyle may be the Sexiest Man Alive, but at the end of the day, he’s also just a parent making breakfast for his daughter, hoping she’ll start the day with “a base level of nutrition.”
Wyle, who was just named the 2026 Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine, shared his Hole in the Middle Eggs recipe with the outlet, showing off his moves in the kitchen on Instagram.
“I’ve made a version of the breakfast that I usually make at home,” he tells People. “Some people call them ‘toad in the hole,’ some people call them ‘hole in the middle.’ This is a Wyle tradition. My father made Hole in the Middle Eggs for me, I made them for all three of my kids.”
For Wyle in particular, the morning ritual of making breakfast is its own reward—though the egg and toast is pretty tasty, too.
“There’s something very centering about making food for everybody in the morning and getting the kitchen kind of cleaned up for the day,” Wyle said in the People clip. “I like watching everybody eat the food that I made.”

If the The Pitt star and ER alum wants his family to start off the day with a nutritious breakfast, he’s on the right track. Eggs are a high-quality protein that contain plenty of amino acids and can help maintain muscle health, support hormone production and even support your immune health. Eggs also help provide essential vitamins and minerals, like vitamin D and choline.
Plus, when the egg’s “hole” is cut into a slice of your favorite whole-wheat toast, you can even add some fiber to your day. As far as the best kind of egg to use when making breakfast, it’s really up to you whether you cook with white or brown eggs. Experts say from a nutritional standpoint, the interior of an egg is the same regardless of the color of its shell.
When your toast is cut, your eggs are set and your plates are ready to go, you can add whatever sides you like to this simple meal.
“Normally we would have fruit and other things as a garnish,” Wyle explains as he plates his eggs. “This is not exactly the sexiest breakfast, but it was made with love.”
If you’re trying to pick some healthy garnishes for your Eggs in the Hole breakfast, consider some colorful fruit like raspberries, which would add some fiber to your plate. You could also go the avocado toast route and add some avocado and hot sauce.
