Jessi Pierce, a Minnesota-based National Hockey League reporter, has died in a house fire alongside her three young children and the family's dog.

The Fire Department of White Bear Lake, Minn., where the 37-year-old, her husband Mike, and their three children, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery lived, released a statement detailing the incident on Saturday.

The Department noted it was called to the Pierce's home on the 2100 block of Richard Ave. in White Bear lake at 5:26 a.m. on Saturday after multiple neighbors reported seeing flames coming through the roof. Firefighters arrived at a structure fully engulfed in flames, and by the time they made it inside, Pierce, her children, and the dog were all deceased.

"Our hearts ache for those involved in this tragedy," wrote Fire Chief Greg Peterson. The Department will conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire.
