Luke Wilson is a new dad!

The *Legally Blonde* actor, 54, welcomed his first baby with girlfriend Kendall Yates, who is 30 years his junior. PEOPLE confirmed the news on Wednesday, sharing that the couple now has a daughter.

According to PEOPLE, Wilson and Yates, 24, brought their newborn daughter to the press reception for his upcoming Netflix comedy series *The Hawk**** ***at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, Calif., on Tuesday. Yates, who held the baby in a carrier, introduced their daughter to guests and Wilson’s castmates, including Jimmy Tatro.

Wilson and Yates have been linked since at least January 2023, when they were spotted walking on a beach together. They made their official red carpet appearance in June 2024 at an after-party for *Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1*.

Wilson has long expressed a desire to start a family, telling Conan O’Brien in 2020 that he thinks it’s probably a good idea to welcome children sooner rather than later.

He also said he’d consider himself a “fun uncle” to his brothers Owen Wilson and Andrew Wilson’s kids. (Owen has three children from different relationships —sons Ford, 15, and Finn, 12, and daughter Lyla, 7. Andrew has a daughter.)

“I am a fun uncle,” he told O’Brien. “I get along great with [my nieces and nephews]. They’re great little kids and, yeah, definitely the kind that make me want to have some kids of my own, which I should get on sooner rather than later.”

Wilson joked that he doesn’t want to be an 80-year-old dad or have “to pay somebody in the neighborhood to throw the football with his kid if I can.”
