Kate Middleton hosted a tea party at Windsor Castle for some of her fellow participants of the National Three Peaks Challenge
Guests shared inspiring stories of resilience and recovery, highlighting the importance of support during personal journeys
Kate, 44, completed the challenge in June, raising funds for cancer care and reflecting on healing and balance in life
Kate Middleton is connecting with some fellow participants almost three months after climbing Britain’s three highest peaks as part of a special campaign to highlight life after a cancer diagnosis.
The Princess of Wales, 44, secretly took part in Britain’s National Three Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing the highest summits in Scotland, England and Wales — Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, respectively — on June 28.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Sept. 25, Kate revealed that participants and their families had recently joined her for a tea party at Windsor Castle, and she also shared a montage clip from the gathering.
“It was a pleasure to welcome other Three Peaks Challenge participants and their families to Windsor Castle,” the caption read. “Behind every summit was a personal story of resilience, determination and hope.”

“Listening to their experiences of the challenge and their reasons for taking it on was a powerful reminder that recovery is rarely a journey we make alone, and of the importance of the people who walk alongside us along the way,” the Princess of Wales wrote, before signing off the post with a “C” for her full first name, Catherine.
Kate was seen wearing a floor-length, long-sleeve purple dress with her hair in loose waves for the occasion. She was captured smiling in the clip, as she spoke with guests while they were served tea and various cakes.
Another post shared on Princess Kate and Prince William’s official Instagram account included photos of each of the tea party guests during the challenge.
“An opportunity to bring together the remarkable participants who took on the National Three Peaks Challenge,” the caption read. “Each arrived with their own story. A chance to reflect on resilience, recovery and adversity. And to recognize the families, friends and communities who provided strength along the way.”
“Because some journeys may begin alone, but none are possible without the support of others,” the caption added.
Among the guests was 11-year-old Ted Haslam, who was joined by his father Pete and several family members. PEOPLE previously reported that Kate donated between £1,000 and £2,000 [$1,300 to $2,600] to his JustGiving page after they spoke on Ben Nevis.
Other guests included Sean McCormick, who has been helping to raise money for a friend’s nephew, who has been diagnosed with cancer, according to Hello! magazine. Albie–Junior also completed the challenge in August, and Trish Patterson finished the challenge shortly after Kate.

Patterson broke the existing challenge record by nine hours, while also raising money for Mind Over Mountains, per the outlet. The Princess of Wales joined the charity for a supported wellbeing walk in the Peak District earlier this year.

Back in June, Kate completed the Three Peaks Challenge — which covers 23 miles of hiking with a total elevation gain of 10,052 feet, per ThreePeaksChallenge.uk — solo, but was supported throughout the three routes by Mountain Rescue.
She was met at the end by Prince William, 44, and their three children, Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, as well as her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and her brother, James Middleton.
The Princess of Wales explained her decision to take part in the challenge in a lengthy message shared on Instagram on June 28, alongside a photo of herself at the summit of Ben Nevis.

Having announced that she was in remission from cancer in January 2025, she said taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge was “not simply as a physical endeavor but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back.”
She spoke about raising funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity — specifically the charity’s efforts to expand access to holistic cancer care for patients across the U.K.

“Healing, whether personal or collective, is not just about fixing what is wrong. It is about finding balance in how we live,” Kate added in the Instagram post. “Between effort and acceptance, between control and trust, between thinking and simply being. Because in the end, bravery isn’t just about pushing forward. It is about knowing how to stay grounded, connected and present, no matter the terrain or landscape you are walking. C. ”
On Sept. 11, the Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London to learn about how the funds she raised were being used.
“This is my small way of being able to give back and say thank you to you,” she said, per U.K. newspaper The Times. “I had incredible care here and support from a huge team and I’m really really grateful on a personal level.”
