Jordin Sparks is sharing that her son DJ is already a fan of her music
The proud mom revealed that there's one song in particular her son loves to sing around the house
Sparks shares her son with husband Dana Isaiah
Jordin Sparks' son is already a fan of his mom's music.
The American Idol winner, 35, spoke with PEOPLE about her new podcast, What's Your Spark?, and revealed that her 7-year-old son, Dana Jr. (DJ), is into some of her music already. Sparks even shared that her little one has been singing one song specifically around the house.
"He was singing 'One Step at a Time' this morning, actually. It was so cute," says Sparks of her son, whom she shares with husband Dana Isaiah. "He was brushing his teeth and all of a sudden I just hear him going, 'One step at a time.'"

"And my heart just breaks and bursts all at the same time because it's just like, 'Oh.' I love that I get to have this experience and this moment. I love being a mom now," she continues. "I can sing really, really well. I know I'm really good at that, but I'm really, really good at being a mom, and I love it. I absolutely love it."
Sparks went on to say that she feels grateful to be able to continue her career and show her son all of her success. As for whether DJ is going to head into the family industry, the proud mom explained that she thinks he just might.
"I think so. I mean, he's just naturally, he has that thing," she says. "He loves to make people laugh and to sing, and he loves to have little dance breaks every day."
"So, whether he wants to do it professionally or not, I have no idea. If he wants to do that, we will cross that road, and I'm not like a momager trying to force him to do it. If he wants to do that, we'll decide when he is like, 'Mom, that's something I want to pursue.' But for now, I'm just letting him be crazy and do his little performances at home."

This past September, Sparks elaborated on her son's musical talents to PEOPLE and said she's amazed her little one can hit notes.
“It's kind of cosmic when I'm sitting next to him, and I'll start singing. Then he joins in,” Sparks said. “I'm just like, ‘I can't believe that this happened. You're able to do this like I'm able to do it.' "
She said her husband even told her that they should enroll their son in voice lessons to keep the creativity going.
“So now my husband is like, ‘You need to start giving him voice lessons, babe,’ ” she told PEOPLE. “I was like, ‘Oh yeah. I guess I could do that.’ So yeah, we sing all the time.”
