Jason Momoa is speaking out about severe flooding in Hawaii due to back-to-back storms that prompted evacuations, damaged homes and roads, and caused power outages across the islands.
The "Chief of War" star, who was born in Honolulu, took to his Instagram stories to share that he and his family evacuated from Oahu's North Shore and were safe.
"I got my family with me. We got out of the North Shore; a lot of people have been asking," he said, according to a recording shared by TMZ. "Our power went off, [and] we're safe for now, but there's a lot of people who weren't, so we’re sending all our love."

A flooded neighborhood in Waialua on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii is seen during a crew flyover with a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter assigned to Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point in Kapolei, on March 20, 2026. Officials in Hawaii on March 20 ordered some 4,000 people living near an aging dam on the island of Oahu to evacuate the area immediately, following severe rains that have battered the region. The century-old Wahiawa dam, located in the north of Hawaii's third largest island, which is home to the state capital Honolulu, "is at imminent risk of failure," the local emergency management agency warned.
The "Aquaman" star continued: "North Shore is pretty gnarly right now. So just love and hopefully everyone's safe and getting out, and we'll get together and figure out how we help everyone."
Evacuation notices in Hawaii have been lifted after catastrophic flooding prompted evacuation alerts in parts of the state, but flood watches remain in place for most of March 22. Excessive rain caused torrents of water to wash out homes, damage roads, and threaten to burst a dam, sparking an emergency evacuation of thousands in Oahu on March 20.
The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency later clarified that the 120-year-old dam had not failed but "is at imminent risk of failure."

A series of low-pressure systems struck Hawaii in March. On average, one to two kona storms impact Hawaii during the November-to-March season; it's very rare for two to form within the same month, let alone within a week, according to AccuWeather meteorologists.

On March 20, Momoa shared a video of himself and his girlfriend, Adria Arjona, working with popular local restaurant chain Zippy's to distribute meals on Oahu's west side.
In the caption, Momoa shared that "these past weeks have been heavy. The storms, the flooding, the constant rain across O'ahu have affected so many of our people, especially those already facing hardship."
"We spent time on the west side," he added. "Just trying to show love, bring some food, and remind our community that we see you, we stand with you, and you’re not alone. That’s what aloha is. It’s showing up for each other when it matters most."
The actor also encouraged his followers to "help in any way no matter how big or small" if they are able, and to also "check in on your neighbors. Give what you can."
On his Instagram stories, Momoa shared ILWU (International Longshore and Warehouse Union) Local 142's donation drive in Honolulu, which accepts blankets, non-perishable food, personal hygiene products, and waterproof clothing.
