Ella Rubin and Keen Ruffalo are giving major twin energy in Sterling Point.
The pair star in Sterling Point, a new coming-of-age series, now streaming on Prime Video. PEOPLE’s exclusive clip features The Idea of You actress Rubin, 24, as rising high school senior Annie Jacobson along with her laid-back twin brother Connor, played by Keen, 25, who is the eldest son of Mark Ruffalo and Sunrise Coigney.
It’s the summer before their senior year, and high-achieving Annie is anxiously awaiting to hear back about her admission to Wharton’s summer program. Meanwhile, Connor is more concerned with having a relaxed summer traveling before their final school year.
Raised in New York City by Annie and Connor’s loving adoptive father, played by Jay Duplass, Annie’s life takes a turn when she inherits her mysterious grandfather’s island in Canada. There she finds new friends, budding romances and untold family secrets.
Rubin told The Cut about the complexities of her character. “Annie feels that she doesn’t have the right to be sad about missing someone she never really knew,” she said. “She uses perfection and drive to fill a mysterious hole, but there’s a real messiness to her that I didn’t want to shy away from just because she’s someone who is, on paper, really put together.”

Sterling Point’s director Megan Park (My Old Ass), told the outlet that the actress was “flawless” in her audition tape. “But,” said Park, 40, “I was like, wow, this is also somebody I want to see unravel a little bit. Ella is definitely very neurotic and type-A and hard on herself, but I think she is trying to break free of that a little bit. It was really fun to watch her explore that and loosen up as Annie does by the end of the show.”
Sterling Point marks Keen’s first major role. His acting career started at age 12 when he was an extra in the 2013 romantic-comedy Begin Again, which starred his dad and Keira Knightley. Since then, the young actor has appeared as an extra in Thor: Ragnarok and had a supporting role in the TV series Hal & Harper.
