Edie Falco is recalling her painful first day on the *Mayor of Kingstown* set.

The Emmy-winning actress, who boards the Taylor Sheridan-created series as Anchor Bay’s no-nonsense new warden Nina Hobbs in its recently released fourth season, revealed that she arrived on the set of the Paramount+ crime drama only to immediately wipe out and “face-plant” on the ground.

“However, on my first day, as I was trying to carry that sort of confidence [that Nina has], I fell on my face,” Falco confessed on Monday’s episode of *The Drew Barrymore Show*. “I was carrying coffee and a thing and I had to get out of the car and walk up the curb and do a thing — literally did a face-plant.”

She continued, “First day. It was good to get it over with! So it’s like, 'I don’t have to do that again.'"**

Drew Barrymore could relate. “That’s a page out of my book,” the host remarked. “Every time I try to leave a room cool, I blow it so hard.”

Upon arrival in Kingstown, Falco’s character Nina immediately butts heads with Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) over how she plans on running Anchor Bay — especially now that Mike’s brother Kyle (Taylor Handley) is behind bars. **

“She is really good at what she does and she knows she is,” Falco explained on the talk show. “And she’s here to do this job she was hired to do and [Mike] comes in kind of like, ‘Just to let you know, I’m really kind of in charge.’ And I think she’s like, 'Oh that’s cute! That’s sweet. That’s not how we do things anymore.'"**

She added, “I think she just knows how to get stuff done and she’s not used to letting anybody get in her way. And so I kind of went in there with that feeling.”

Hugh Dillon — who is a co-creator, executive producer, and star on the series — previously praised Falco’s "effortless" performance in an interview with **.**

“I could watch her just in the monitors. She's just so effortless. I've been a fan of hers for so long and then when you see her just at work, in the [*Mayor of Kingstown*] world, and with Jeremy Renner… it's explosive.”**
