- With *Daredevil: Born Again* season 3 currently filming, Charlie Cox calls it "a new book, a new dawn a little bit" for the show.
- "It feels like we've shed the skin of the Mayor Fisk era," the star says.
- Showrunner Dario Scardapane lightly teases the future envisioned for the Marvel drama.
Charlie Cox is fully in the thick of filming *Daredevil: Born Again* season 3 in New York City, as season 2 of the Disney+ Marvel drama premieres this week. And to him, it feels like the show is entering a new era.
"I haven't read the whole thing," Cox prefaces to **, speaking during his lunch break at Silvercup Studios in Queens, "but, no, it feels like we've shed the skin of the Mayor Fisk era. It feels like it's a new book, a new dawn a little bit."
Showrunner Dario Scardapane and his team designed seasons 1 and 2 as "Part 1" and "Part 2" of the larger Mayor Fisk storyline from Marvel Comics. The former chronicles Kingpin's rise to power, while the latter will track the rise of the resistance. Season 3, Cox says, "does not" feel to him like a "Part 3."

"It's still a continuation, obviously, but it's slightly different," the actor, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil, says. "I can't give anything away, but it's a new thing, which is fun."
Earlier in the press cycle for *Daredevil: Born Again* season 2, Scardapane commented on the longterm vision for the series, which Marvel declared would turn into an annually returning show.

"Season 1 and season 2 are Part 1 and Part 2. It feels that way," he said during an early March interview with EW. "I think there's also a Part 3 to that story, but I need to be very quiet about that. The ballad of Fisk and Murdock has, in my mind, an ebb and flow. In season 1, Fisk is triumphant. In season 2, it ends in a manner that there are consequences for each of those characters. We talked earlier about how season 2, Fisk is fully Kingpin and Murdoch is fully Daredevil, and there's a consequence to that, and that's where we're heading next."
Scardapane wants whatever comes next to "feel like a continuum." He adds, "Anything that comes after each of these should feel like it's all moving in the same direction and is all part of a piece. One day that might come to an end. I don't see that day yet."

When asked if *Daredevil: Born Again* will always remain a Matt and Fisk story, Scardapane acknowledged "it's a super tough question."
"The Matt-Fisk story isn't done yet," he said. "This is one of those questions I have to totally answer carefully...*Daredevil*, over the course of 60-plus years, has gone into a lot of different directions. For me, *currently*, there is no *Daredevil* without Wilson Fisk, but you never know where the story's gonna take you."
"I think it's a 'yes and...'" Marvel producer Sana Amanat added. "It'll always be the heartbeat of this franchise, if you will, but there are also so many great characters and storylines...It's a rich world."
