Maureen McCormick is letting fans in on her “wonderful” meeting with Christine Taylor.

Earlier this year, theBrady Bunch worlds collided when McCormick, 70, shared a photo of herself coming face to face with fellow Marcia Brady, Christine Taylor, over lunch. Months later, the actress is still buzzing over their newfound connection.

“I love her,” McCormick, who originated the role of the eldest Brady child, recently told Entertainment Weekly’s sister publication, PEOPLE, adding that they share more in common than their time as the perky cheerleader. “Honestly, I think we both felt like we were home. It was amazing, the connections that we had with each other. And so many things that are really, really similar. It was a little crazy, but so wonderful.”

McCormick explained that she was inspired to reach out after several friends sent her footage of Taylor on Live with Kelly and Mark in 2023, during which the actress made it clear that she’d be thrilled to meet her fellow Marcia.

“She had actually said … how much she wanted to meet me, and it was so cute,” McCormick gushed.

By that point, the duo had already crossed paths but not yet in a meaningful capacity. McCormick said that prior to their lunch, they had met briefly when Taylor was filming The Brady Bunch Movie — which lovingly satirizes the hit ’60s and ’70s series — and again for a 2025 charity table read of It’s a Wonderful Life via Zoom.

McCormick said that the first time “there were so many people there and you couldn’t really have a conversation or connect,” followed by their second meeting, which involved a digital barrier.

“That was really fun,” McCormick said. “But still, it was on Zoom, and you couldn’t reach out and touch. I like to see in-person. So we made plans to have a lunch.”

As for whether it was difficult to get away with two Marcias sharing a meal in public, McCormick said they managed to go unnoticed.

“It was really cool because we sat in a corner,” she said. “We had that whole little corner to ourselves, so I don’t think anyone knew.”

Fans eventually learned about the Marcia’s having lunch directly from the source when McCormick posted a photo of them together on X.

“Marcia! Marcia! Marcia’s! It’s a Sunshine Day! 🎶🌼🌈☀️💖👭🦋,” she wrote. “My heart is so full! Love and adore you Christine Taylor!”

During her appearance on Live, Taylor was explicit about her desire to connect with McCormick, sharing that she was a Brady Bunch fan herself before securing a role in the ’90s film and its hit sequel.

“It was my after-school TV show, I knew every episode by heart,” Taylor said.

The actress also took care to clarify that her take on Marcia came from a place of love, noting that the films were a tribute to the hit show, even as they poked fun at the outdated tone of its ’70s style comedy,

“I honored her. I was not making fun of her,” she said. “I loved her. I wanted to be her. My mission in life right now is to become her friend … I’m putting it in the world here.”

For her part, McCormick had only praise to share about Taylor’s version of Marcia Brady, telling PEOPLE, “What didn’t I love in that performance? It was absolutely brilliant. She was so great.”
