Audrey Hare and Alexander Cubis in 'The Black Dagger Brotherhood' Season 2 - PassionflixThese are Rhage and Mary's greatest hits.
After feasting on the first season of The Black Dagger Brotherhood, weâre more than ready to sink our teeth into Season 2 â especially knowing the Passionflix adaptation will center on Rhage (Alexander Cubis) and J.R. Wardâs Lover Eternal. Naturally, we couldnât wait to get a taste of the adaptationâs next chapter, so we turned to the source material before Season 2 comes out later this month, introducing us to Mary (Audrey Hare) and her entanglement with the Brotherhoodâs resident ladiesâ man.
Lover Eternal didnât disappoint. Rhage, a vampire warrior whoâs been cursed to occasionally turn into a dragon-like beast, and human Mary, whose leukemia has recently returned, make for a high-stakes, unlikely, and totally swoonworthy pairing. Of course, we have plenty of book scenes on our wishlist for Season 2, but these are our top five. Let us know which scenes youâre hoping make it into the show in the comments section at the end of the page.
Rhage and Maryâs first date
After meeting Mary once, Rhage is single-minded in his need to see her again. He calls Maryâs friend, vampire Bella, to arrange a blind date for him with Mary â blind, because the Brotherhood wiped Maryâs memories of them. Rhage has zero idea where humans go on first dates, and neither does Bella, who suggests TGI Fridays.
We have zero notes on the scene that ensues: An insecure Mary is convinced Rhage is there for someone else and is shocked when he approaches her. Rhage, hiding his true nature, introduces himself as Hal, of all things. Mary is convinced âHalâ couldnât be attracted to her, which couldnât be further from the truth. Delicious.
Mary finding out Rhage is a vampire
Mary doesnât find out Rhage is a vampire in the most delicate of ways. Rhage falls asleep holding Mary on her couch, and heâs so out of it that he sleeps through the morning, forgetting to close her curtains. He wakes with his arm burning in the sunlight, and the pain makes his fangs come out. Mary reacts surprisingly well.
Instead of freaking out like most people would, she offers to help. Half convinced Rhage isnât really what he says he is, she also surmises that Rhage wouldâve hurt her already if he really wanted to. Mary helps him slather ice cream on his wounds to help the burning. Yum.
The rythe and Mary watching over Rhage while he heals
The ice cream scene isnât the last instance of Mary comforting an injured Rhage. (It comes with the territory of being a vampire warrior, obviously.) The Scribe Virgin decides to punish Rhage for bringing Mary, a human, onto the Brotherhoodâs territory. Rhage has to participate in a rythe, during which the brothers are forced to each strike him with a tri-whip.
Before it starts, Rhage asks his brothers to take him somewhere else other than his room at the mansion to recover. Rhage doesnât want her to see him like that, but obviously, he doesnât get his wish. She has no fear reaming out the brothers for injuring Rhage. She gains their respect after that. Hopefully, Mary is as fearless in the adaptation as she is in the book.

Mary watching Rhage drink the Chosenâs blood
After plenty of angst and miscommunication â which we hope is featured heavily in Season 2 â Mary decides to stop pushing Rhage away. She moves into the mansion with Rhage, who is set on supporting Mary while she manages her recently-returned leukemia. A hurdle comes up quick: Rhage needs to feed on a female vampire to sustain himself and convinces Mary to watch. He wants her to know that itâs strictly a business transaction.
That doesnât stop Mary from getting jealous, especially when the Chosen vampire offers up more than just her blood. After, Mary kisses Rhage and tastes the blood in his mouth. Freaky (and we mean that in the complimentary sense). We love some possessiveness in our romances, sue us.
Maryâs welcome party
Last season, some of the best moments were when the brothers interacted all together, so we can only hope Season 2 includes Maryâs welcome-to-the-mansion party in Lover Eternal. Though Wrath and Beth are away, all the brothers show up for Mary, as well as Bella. The party sets up Bella and Zsadistâs connection and the angsty, steamy tension between them. Theyâre the leads of the third book (and a potential third season), FYI.

Whatâs more, Rhageâs beast almost makes an appearance during the party â he still hasnât told Mary about his curse â but Mary manages to calm him down, the fearless legend that she is.
Obviously, we hope the party plays out beat for beat on screen, as well as all the others above. Donât forget to tell us which moments you want to see below!
