Aaron Rodgers vs. Jordan Love: Who's been a better QB over the last three seasons?

It may be lost to memory due to many unprecedented events that year but the 2020 NFL Draft included a few surprises and many future stars. The entire draft took place remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic and brought NFL fans nine future All-Pros.

In the first 10 selections, three quarterbacks were selected, starting with Joe Burrow at No. 1 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals. Tua Tagovailoa went No. 5 to the Dolphins and Justin Herbert went No. 6 to the Los Angeles Chargers.

But a funny thing happened in the latter stages of the first round. The Green Bay Packers traded up four spots to select quarterback Jordan Love at No. 26 overall.

Love became the first quarterback the Packers selected in the first round since Aaron Rodgers in 2004.

Rodgers proceeded to win NFL MVP honors in 2020 and 2021 as the Packers won 13 games each year but lost in the conference championship and divisional round of the playoffs, respectively.

Love stayed on the bench in 2020 and started once in 2021.

Rodgers started all 17 games in the 2022 NFL season but the Packers failed to make the playoffs for the first time in four years. That proved to be his last in Wisconsin.

Love took over in 2023 as Rodgers headed to the Big Apple. In the time, which quarterback has played better? Here's how the two compare.

Jordan Love vs Aaron Rodgers stats

Rodgers' move to New York didn't work out as planned initially. The four-time NFL MVP tore his Achilles on opening night in his first game for the Jets and missed the entire 2023 season.

He hasn't missed a game since then, though, with 17 starts for the Jets in 2024 and six for the Pittsburgh Steelers so far in 2025.

Love's missed just two games - both in 2024 due to an early-season groin injury. Love's 38 starts are considerably more than Rodgers' 24 since his departure from Green Bay.

Still, here's how the two compare statistically:

Love

Rodgers

64.2%

6.8

By the numbers, Love holds the edge in most all category. The lone one he doesn't – interceptions – makes sense given his 14 more starts.

Jordan Love vs Aaron Rodgers: Record, team success

It hasn't been much of a comparison for team success, either. Love continues to hold an edge over Rodgers since he left Green Bay.

Regular season record:

Love: 22-15-1

Rodgers: 10-14

Postseason record:

Love: 2-1

Rodgers: N/A (hasn't played in postseason)

Love led the Packers to the NFC divisional round in his first season as a starter in 2023. They lost to the eventual conference champion 49ers. A year later, Love and the Packers lost in the wild-card round to the Super Bowl champion Eagles.
